LATTEST NEWS FROM ASHFORD CHARITY FUNDS.
CHARITY EVENTS WE WILL SUPPORT. For a small charge of £10 we would willingly support any charity event and advertise there event on this web-site.
This fee will go into the ASHFORD CHARITY FUNDS Pot to help put on other events for charity.
Charities that have benefited from my charity work go back over 20 years, living down in Sussex motor neurone disease, injured Jockey Club, spinal injuries. Over a period of 3 years £25.000 was raised.
Moving back to my home town Ashford, and remarried, I got back involved in the local town’s football club. I my self was taken ill in June 2007 with serious angina attacks, rushed in to the William Harvey to find a serious blockage in my main archery to my heart 95% blocked they acted straight away put 3 stents interlocked them and opened it up, without this treatment i would not be here today.
This has kicked off more charity work with a game to raise money for the cardiac care unit .with the help of local radio and now good friend webbo we raised a staggering £8,000. We followed up with another game one year on, this time between us we choose 2 charities. Pilgrims hospice and clic sargent, a staggering £12,000 was raised.£6,000 to each charity.
This year we really pushed out to the very limit, laid on a fantastic day for help for heroes had everything in place to be awesome, only to be let down by the great British weather. which put pay to the freefall display team, outside concert ,and the overall enjoyment of the day. despite all this the support still came through the gates with a loss of 700 to 800 paying customers we still managed to raise a staggering £14,000. A presentation night also proved to be a big success only 6 days later with a sell-out.
future events; I’m now planning future events throughout the year starting off with another night of entertainment for a charity that does not get much mention because people are not aware it could happen to them or a child. I have had good friends that have been through this pain, and it has changed their lives in a massive way. To have their daughter at the age of 8 having a stroke does not bear thinking about, they have coped fantastically and this special little girl is amazing, and full of courage. So stroke awareness in children is my next fundraiser event. I do hope you will help me support this event.
Other events and charities that i would like to cover is Find a Voice, a local based charity. another kmfm charity football match will be planned for 2011 at the Julie Rose Stadium, I am looking for venues who would kindly help with the use of there hall and funcition rooms to put on events for charity, ie race nights, band nights, dinner and dance, so if anybody knows anywhere please get in contact.
Ashford charity fund lottery is also a fantastic way to raise money for charity and it also lets you support which charity you wish. If we get this of the ground then some serious money can be raised for all sorts of charities.
Many thanks for your full support in the past events and hope you will continue along with your family and friends to continue to help others in need.
