Celebrity Allstars. Have Thrown down a challenge for the 4th KMFM charity challenge cup. With still over 11 months to go, This team believes it can take the cup out of Ashford for the first time in 4 years. Looking at their squad it will take some stopping them, So yet again my team selection will be tougher than ever. Looking forward to the challenge.Gazza.
KMFM CHARITY MATCH IS GOING ON TO ITS 4TH YEAR .
Already a date has been booked for the 4th Annual charity match .With the last 3 years a staggering £34,000 has been raised for charity.
Sunday 1st May 2011. Still waiting on who will attempt to take our trophy away from Ashford.
ASHFORD TOWN ELITE SQUAD
My views as the manager on the players I have chosen .This is I fill the strongest squad I have put together in the attempt to win the kmfm charity cup 3 years running.
We are up against a very strong side in the ALLSTARS .They are not coming here just for a game of football , they are coming here to collect a cup.
I’am so pleased to know we have a donation which will cover most of the cost this year .With my players help in getting sponsorship we could beat last year’s total of £14.000
NEALE MANNING. Neale played in goal for a very successful spell for Ashford in the Kent league ,3 seasons ago winning the league and league cup .Also played in goal for me 2 years ago when the game went to penalties Neale saved a great penalty for the team to win its first KMFM Charity cup.Now as the number 1 shirt at Thamesmead .Great guy.
TOMMY ADDLINGTON. Tom has been a good player for me in passed charity matches, Enjoys these games , Understand he has hung is boots up now, Ashford and Hythe Town will never forget this cracking player .
BRYAN PEARCE . Bryan played last year with his brother Daniel who is on tour in Australia with Dizzy Rascal .Bryan is a srong defender hopefully will be part of the new Ashford United next season.
IAN ROSS . Another cracking player that played for the town .One of the best left footers at local football I have seen .Still has the drive and passion to win games.
SIMON GLOVER . Always been a favourite of mine .Captain last years team against London Town ,Also help the team out 2 years ago coming from behind to win the cup . Currently playing for Maidstone.
GRAHAM PORTER .Cracking guy cracking player even now .Played in these games before ,One year Graham trained with the lads and was unfit to play . But supported the team ..Which showed me great commitment .He makes the back four his own . When he’s on the pitch .Graham doesn’t know yet but the Captain’s arm band is waiting for him.
LEE MACROBERT .Lee is the son of Peter .Lee has played at a high level with Millwall . Great character still putting them goals away on a Sunday Morning .Famous for jumping on Razzor Ruddock in the first charity match.
MARCUS PEARCE .One of the best talents who should have played at a much higher standard .Reads the game very well . I Played Marcus right hand side of midfield in the 9-1 trashing of Maidstone in October. Will start there again .
ALLEN STERLING .Allen played last year and got the team off to a flyer .Scoring the first goal in our 7-4 win over London Town .Plays local footy helping his team at the top of the table . When on song Allen is a great lad to have in any side.
RYAN NORMAN . To be fair I don’t know to much about Ryan .A part from being the youngest in the squad ,Had a spell for Ashford under Steve Lovell .Plays county football on a Saturday with Bromley Green .Could be a name for the feature .
HUGO LANGTON .A cracking coach .Used to be at Ashford with Mr Lovell .A smashing guy all round . Will be warming the team up and have a chance to keep them on their toes on the pitch . Enjoy’s these games
TONY REYNOLDS .Ashford United new manager ,Tony is also a great reader of the game .plays the easy ball every time .Smashing guy ,at 48 could still play in any local team.
PAUL CHAMBERS . Will be Tony’s number 2 with Ashford United .As a player was awesome in his youth .Still a handful now .Paul love’s to win .Captain my side when beating Maidstone in October.
LEIGHTON KENNEDY. Leighton turned out for me in October in the Barry Cunningham memorial cup.Were we took on Maidstone. Leighton earned the man of the match by scoring a superb Hat trick in the first half in a 9-1 win. This has lead him for a second call up form me. He can not only play up front but can do the job at the back too.
LAURENCE HARVEY. A smashing young lad who came through the Ashford Youth to take senior football by storm .Now playing for Maidstone but one day hope to see him back at Ashford on a regular basis.Help me win the KMFM Charity cup 2 years ago.
JOHN (WEBBO)WEBSTER . John KMFM DJ love’s his football .Always give’s is best .Scored a cracker last year ,Also played in Goal .We still won What can I say .Smashing guy but will have to take it easy .I understand John is jumping out of a plane later that month .The thing’s he does for charity.
